Professor Corneliu Berbente has an extended degree of expertise in Gas Dynamics, Heat and Mass Transfer, Combustion Theory and Numerical Methods, which means: Flows through Blade Cascades, Combustion with Shock Waves, Fundamentals of Aero-Thermochemistry, Numerical methods used in Computational Fluid Dynamics. Professor C. Berbente is member of several Romanian and international organizations, as follows: Member of the Administrative Council, Romanian Office for Aerospace Research; Member of American Mathematical Society; Member of National Committee for Aeronautics and Astronautics; Member of American Romanian Academy of Arts and Sciences, Branch Director; Member of the Academy of Technical Sciences of Romania. Professor C. Berbente has performed several activities of international co-operation, as follows: Visiting Professor at T.H.Darmstadt, Fachbereich of Mathematics (1 week – 1993); A DAAD Grant to visit the Technical Universities of Stuttgart, Karlsruhe, Aaachen and Munich (2 weeks – 1977); A Cooperative Research Program on Fuel Injection with Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University Blacksburg Virginia (U.S.A. – 1976); Visiting scholar at Stanford University, California, Department of Aeronautics and Astronautics during the Academic year 1970-1971 (9 moths). He was awarded with several honors, as for example: The “Certificat of Appreciation” of Washington State University and University “Politehnica” of Bucharest (1994); The Prize “AUREL VLAICU” of the ROMANIAN ACADEMY (1983). Professor C. Berbente has published 9 monographs and treatees, 82 technical papers, 5 papers in proceedings at national and international conferences. He participated also at 30 contracts of scientific research. Professor C. Berbente has also 2 granted patents: Kolbenmotor, Patentschrift DE 4136223 C1, 1992 (Germany); Installation for air-heating in jet engines, Nr.108268 B1, Romania, 1993.

Professor Teodor-Viorel Chelaru has technical and scientific competence in flight dynamics of guided and non-guided vehicles as well as in experimental aerodynamics and rocket engines having published 6 books, 16 papers, 30 papers in international proceedings and 1 patent. He is titular of the courses “Dynamic flight”, “The guidance of flight systems”, “Optimal synthesis of control laws”, “Spacecraft Dynamics” in the Aerospace Engineering Faculty from POLITEHNICA University of Bucharest. He is member of the Board of the Faculty of Aerospace Engineering. He was responsible for Romanian side in FP7 European project ORPHEE, and he coordinated as project manager 5 national projects. From 1984 to 2000 he participated in national research and development projects in the field of guided missiles. He is member in the Astronautic and Aeronautic Committee from Technical Division of Romanian Academy. He was industrial representative in NMSG-NATO Group of modeling and simulation. He is Romanian representative in ESA / PB-LAU.

Assistant Professor Marius BREBENEL has a high expertise in the fields of Fluid Mechanics and Gas Dynamics, Turbomachinery, Air Breathing Engines for Aircraft and Advanced Mathematics for Engineers. He published 7 books (as single author and/or co-author) and 18 technical papers, some of them being presented at international conferences held in Romania. His innovative activity includes 4 granted patents, 3 of them issued in Romania (“Rotary Engine with Internal Combustion”, “Bladed Lenticular Aircraft” – basic and upgraded) and one in Canada (“Wind Energy Conversion Unit”). As lecturer, he is teaching among others the following courses: “Flows through Blade Cascades”, “Modeling and Simulation of Gas Turbine Engines”, “Systems and Accessories on Aircraft Turboengines”, “Propeller and Wind Turbine Theory”. He is teaching also practice tutoring for several disciplines of Mathematics, as for example “Calculus”, “Linear Algebra”, “Advanced Mathematics for Engineers”.
For his scientific activity, Marius Brebenel was awarded with several prises, as follows:

Since 2022, Marius Brebenel became Associate Member of Romanian Academy of Technical Sciences (ASTR).

Professor Sterian Danaila, has a high degree of expertise in Aerodynamics, Computational Fluid Dynamics, Numerical Methods applied in Fluid Mechanics, Finite Elements in Aerospace Engineering, Heat and Mass Transfer; Turbulence modeling, Tribology. Currently he is the head of the Department of Aerospace Sciences “Elie Carafoli”. Professor St. Danaila is member of the Board of the Faculty of Aerospace Engineering and member of the Senate of UPB. He was also teacher coordinator team of students participating in international competition Air Cargo Challenge 2009, FFD 2011 and Air Cargo Challenge 2011. Professor St. Danaila has performed several activities of international co-operation, as follows: Post-doctoral research grant in Laboratoire de Mécanique des Solides, Université de Poitiers, 1991-1992 (LMS), France; Visiting Professor, Université de Poitiers, France, 1992 where he held lectures on: Turbulence and turbulent flows with applications in hydrodynamic lubrification; Numerical methods for integration of Navier-Stokes equations. He was awarded with several honors, as for example: “Henry Coanda” Award of Romanian Academy 1998; “Hermann Oberth” Award of Academy of Romanian Scientists 2011. He already led 2 international research projects, more than 10 national research projects, and wrote 4 books (2 monographs on CFD and Turbulence) and over 40 scientific articles. He developed software (home-build software): panel methods for steady and unsteady potential flows in subsonic and supersonic regimes; high-order finite volume formulations for transonic and supersonic flows with various turbulence models, high-order LES formulations for chemical reacting flows. He has computer skills and competences in ANSYS (Mechanical APDL, CFX, Fluent, ICEM, Design Modeler), Programming languages (FORTRAN, Pascal, C++), Mathematical software (MathCAD, Mat Lab, Maple), Microsoft Office Package, etc.

Professor Adrian-Mihail Stoica with scientific expertise in flight control systems design and analysis. He is PhD advisor and the head of Department of Aeronautical Systems Engineering of Faculty of aerospace engineering, University “POLITEHNICA” of Bucharest. He coordinated the AOCS team from University “POLITEHNICA” of Bucharest in the framework of ESMO (European Student Moon Orbiter) Project. He is member of Aerospace Technical Committee of IFAC International Federation of Automatic Control (IFAC), of American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) and of AMS (American Mathematical Society). He is author or co-author of five books (three of them published by Springer) and over one hundred papers published in international journals and proceedings of conferences. He coordinated as a director eleven research projects in the framework of national research and development plans. Between 2001-2008 Professor Stoica was a member of the steering committee of the national research program “Aerospatial” and between 2003-2007 he was director of sub-program.

Associate Professor Florin Frunzulica has competences in Fluid Dynamics/Aerodynamics (Aerospace and Wind Turbines), Computational Fluid Dynamics (Aerospace and Wind Turbines), Strength of Materials, Modeling and Analysis of Aerospace Structures, Aero-elasticity /Fluid-Structure Interaction, Composite Materials, Implementation of Numerical Schemes using Programming Languages. He has computer skills and competences in ANSYS (Mechanical APDL, CFX, Fluent, ICEM, Design Modeler), Programming languages (FORTRAN, Pascal, C), Mathematical software (MathCAD, Mat Lab, Maple), Microsoft Office Package, etc. His scientific activity contains: Over 82 scientific papers presented at international conferences and published in proceedings, 2 books (coauthor). Patent application No. A00895/sept.13, 2011: Method and device for flow control with independent multiple slots on upper-side of wing. Hi is member in scientific organizations: GAMM and EUCASS; Co-organizer of scientific sections at: ICNAAM 2010, ICNAAM 2011, ICNAAM 2012 and ICNPAA 2012. In field of research activity, he was senior researcher in 17 National Research Projects (aerodynamics, fluid dynamics and fluid-structure interaction), three National Research Projects (aerodynamics and aero elasticity of wind turbines), and one National Research Projects (treatment of herniated lumbar disc). He was project manager (UPB-CCAS) in 3 projects. He developed software (home-build software): aerodynamics: panel methods; finite volume method for high speed regime, for aerodynamics of wind turbines (BEM and panel methods), for aero-elastic study of aircraft structure.

Professor Virgil Stanciu, has an extended degree of expertise in propulsion systems for aircraft, which means: gas turbine jet engines; ramjets and scramjets; non-conventional propulsion systems; bladed machinery (compressors and turbines); steady and unsteady processes in turboengines; fuels and lubricants; designer and organizer of specific test rigs for the components of jet engines tested in the special labs. In addition, he a proven expertise in the field of inspection and assessment of the quality of the education process specializing in aerospace. He is PhD advisor and the dean of Faculty of Aerospace Engineering from University “POLITEHNICA” of Bucharest. He was awarded with the Golden Medal by ANCS at the 12-th edition of INVENTIKA, International Exhibition of Inventions and New Technologies, Oct.2008. Professor V. Stanciu is member of several international organizations, as follows: member of Commission of Aeronautics and Space, Section „Technical Sciences” of Romanian Academy (since 1990); founding member and president of Romanian Association of Jet Engines Specialists (ASMAR) (since 1993); member of American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) (since 1995);Corresponding member of Romanian-American Art and Science Academy (since 2003);President of Romanian Association of Aeronautics and Space (since 2006) ;member of French Association of Aeronautics and Space (since 2007);member of International Association of Engineers (IAENG) (since 2008). He has published 51 courses, monographs and treatees, 59 technical papers, 135 papers in proceedings at national and international conferences. He participated also at 63 contracts of scientific research. Professor V. Stanciu has introduced several new disciplines in the programs for Bachelor and Master Degree at the faculty of Aerospace Engineering, as follows: Jet engines; Processes in gas turbine engines; Characteristics of Turboengines; Theory and design of turboengines; Aeronautical and Spatial Culture; History of Aviation; Non-conventional propulsion systems; Transient regimes in jet air breathing engines; Aerospace propulsion; Fundamentals of Air Transportation.

Professor Marius STOIA-DJESKA with scientific expertise in Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), Aeroelasticity and Fluid-Structure Interaction and Sensitivity Analysis. He is member of the Department of Aerospace Sciences of Faculty of Aerospace Engineering, “POLITEHNICA” University from Bucharest. He coordinated the STRUCTURE teams of “POLITEHNICA” University from Bucharest involved in the ESEO and ESMO projects. Dr. Stoia-Djeska is author or co-author of four books and of more than fifty papers published in journals and proceedings of conferences. He is currently teaching lectures in Fluid Dynamics and Aerodynamics, Aircraft Structure and Systems, CFD and Aeroelasticity. Dr. Stoia-Djeska coordinated as project manager seven research projects in the framework of Romanian national research and development programs.

Professor Ionel Simion with scientific expertise in Industrial Design, Computer Aided design, Geometric modelling, Mechanical Technology. He is PhD advisor and the head of Department of Engineering Graphics and Industrial Design of Aerospace Engineering faculty, to University “POLITEHNICA” of Bucharest. He is author of twelve books (two of them published in USA) and over one hundred papers published in international journals and proceedings of conferences. He participated to fifty-five research projects in the framework of national research and development plans

Professor Ion Stroe was Head of Department of Mechanics from University „Politehnica” of Bucharest. He has competence in aerospace dynamics, dynamical systems, dynamics of systems of bodies, space robotics. He published 122 scientific papers (40 papers published in scientific periodicals in Romania or abroad, 44 papers published in proceedings volumes of international scientific conferences, 38 published in proceedings volumes of national scientific conferences) and 9 books. He has implied in 60 research contracts (26 as a scientific head or director, 34 as member of the research team). Subject of some papers is: dynamics of large spacecrafts, space robotics, stability.
Between 2003-2006 professor Ion Stroe was director of subprogram of the national research program “Aerospatial”. Professor Ion Stroe taught courses: Mechanics (Statics, Kinematics, Dynamics, Analytical Mechanics, Vibrations), Special Elements of Astrodynamics, Aerospace Dynamical Systems, Rotor Dynamics. In 2009 professor Ion Stroe becames IAA (International Academy of Astronautics) member (corresponding member from 2002). Professor Ion Stroe is Scientific Secretary of Astronautics and Aeronautics Commission of the Romanian Academy (since 1999) and President of Aerospace Engineering, Motor Vehicles and Transport Commission from Education and Research Ministry.
